Cal Poly Mural Project

The Cal Poly Mural Project is under the direction of the University Diversity Enhancement Committee (UDEC) with Cal Poly students forming the planning committee with the guidance of Dr. Jean DeCosta, Dean of Students. The purpose of the Mural Project is to promote and enhance diversity amongst people at Cal Poly and is a creative way for all students to become involved with the campus.

The Cal Poly Mural project is one of the most interactive student-led projects on campus. The student mural committee is responsible for producing a campus mural representing diversity. To date, the committee has held information sessions, gathered ideas about what elements Cal Poly students would like to see in a campus mural, researched the mural process, and held a campus design contest. The student planning committee is committed to doing what it takes to move this project from concept to reality.
